2. A regional traffic corridor study of Route 128 and I-95 should be conducted to include Legacy Place in Dedham and all upcoming regional development projects. Westwood Station should not move forward until the study is complete.
3. Depending upon the outcome of the study, the proposed development should be phased to match the infrastructure improvements of the I-93/I-95 interchange and the Route 128 "Add-a-lane".
4. A large, private development should not be permitted to overburden State highways that are already at or near capacity. As proposed, Westwood Station would utilize ALL additional capacity created through the proposed infrastructure improvements, eliminating all public benefit of these improvements.
5. This so-called “Smart Growth” development is too large for the site and fails to consider the long term costs to the region, offering no multi-community benefit as required in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
Sustainable Design Principals. 6. We know that a Dedham Street on-ramp is not a viable solution. Thus, we are working with consultants and engineers to develop alternative plans that will address the impacts of Westwood Station on local Canton streets, and on the regional roadways as well.
